The North Balwyn Cricket Club Girls Program provides a supportive and empowering environment where girls of all abilities can learn, play, and enjoy cricket. Designed for beginners through to experienced players, the program focuses on developing fundamental skills, confidence, and a strong understanding of the game through age-appropriate coaching and match play. Girls Cricket - FAQs

The girls program is open to girls of all abilities, from those new to cricket to experienced players looking to further develop their skills.

Girls can participate across various age groups, from 5-9 years old in Cricket Blast through to Girls only teams and junior mixed competitions under 10s through to under 16s, depending on team availability and competition structures.

No prior experience is required. The program welcomes beginners and experienced players, with coaching tailored to individual development.

Yes. The program offers girls-only teams and training environments, providing a supportive space for players to build confidence and skills.

The girls cricket season generally runs from October to March, including weekly training and matches.

Most teams train once per week on Tuesdays, with girls matches played on Wednesday. Junior mixed teams are played on the weekend.

Training and home matches are held at North Balwyn Cricket Club grounds, with away matches played against local clubs.

Teams are coached by experienced and accredited coaches, supported by club volunteers who are committed to player development and wellbeing.

Basic equipment may be available for new players. As players progress, they will need their own bat, pads, gloves, helmet, and protective gear.

Registration fees vary by age group and season and include insurance, association fees, and club costs. Details are provided before the season begins.

The club aims to place friends together where possible, while still maintaining balanced teams and appropriate development levels.

Parents are encouraged to help as team managers, scorers, or volunteers. No prior cricket experience is required—support and training are provided.
